Hays Education is urgently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of a child in Year 6 with Autism and other complex needs. This SEND Teaching Assistant job is based both in and out of the classroom and the location of the school is in South West Wakefield.

The role will include but is not limited to:

- Providing assistance to the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Assisting in creating a safe and nurturing environment for the pupil you are supporting
- Supporting the pupil with their daily routines and access to learning
- Fostering positive relationships with other students, parents and caregivers, outside agencies and staff members
- Helping to maintain classroom organisation and cleanliness
- Collaborating with the lead teacher to assess student progress and provide feedback

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Previous experience working with SEND pupils is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to educate and engage children in learning activities
- Experience working with children with special educational needs
- Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum
