Do you have previous experience/knowledge of working with SEND?

A 3 form entry school in the BS32 area of South Gloucestershire is currently looking for a candidate who can work on a 1 to 1 basis with a pupil in a Year 4 class.

This school holds high expectations from their team of staff as they are passionate about their children being confident, caring, resilient and curious. They encourage them to achieve the very best by accessing a broad Curriculum and a range of extra-curricular activities.

The Role

As a member of the support staff at this Primary School, you will be expected to work closely with the school SENDCo, understanding the individual pupils’ needs and building a strong relationship with the pupil and their families.

The Head Teacher is looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and has a previous experience working with ASD and/or SEMH needs.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to assess development.

  • Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.

  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment

  • Be flexible and adapt activities based on the pupils' needs and emotional feelings.

  • Assess and communicate the individuals’ successes and developments.
