Job Title: 1-1 EYFS Assistant (Autism Support)Location: Keighley

Are you an experienced and compassionate childcare professional with a passion for supporting children with special needs? We are looking for a dedicated 1-1 EYFS Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis to support a child with autism. This role requires availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday mornings until August. A Level 3 qualification or above in childcare is essential.

Job Description: As a 1-1 EYFS Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to a child with autism within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting. Your duties will include:

  • Implementing personalized learning and behavioral strategies to support the child's development and engagement.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or support plans.
  • Assisting the child with daily activities, transitions, and social interactions within the setting.
  • Monitoring and documenting the child's progress, behaviors, and achievements.
  • Communicating effectively with parents/guardians and other professionals involved in the child's care.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 3 qualification or above in Childcare or relevant field.
  • Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and child development principles.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from SENCO and other professionals.
