The key deliverable for this role is the effective management of the construction projects (CHP, gas boilers, heat pumps, Decarbonisation of BU in the midlands & north, new network connections, chilled water, district heating and cooling pipework). An Operations Manager with experience of working in a Project-led environment is sought by a Tyneside based Engineering company As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing daily activities and maximising productivity, particularly in project deliveries, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and scope. Current projects are technical automation projects and vary from simple delivery projects to complex software/ hardware development projects and vary in duration from months to several years. You will need a good engineering background ideally within Electrical Engineering or Industrial Controls & Automation and several years of relevant, broad engineering project / operations management . Good business and organisational skills with a focus on processes and people management are needed as are strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and interface with a multidisciplinary team including R&D, sales and finance. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions and continuous improvement in all areas are essential.
