Our client, a fire and rescue service has a number of permanent & temporary opportunities available within their Prevention department for Fire Community Safety Officers, based across sites in South Yorkshire. Fire Community Safety OfficerContract: 1.5fte Permanent, 0.5fte TemporarySalary: Grade 4 (£24,294 - £25,979)Hours: 37 hours - full time, 18.5 hours - part timeWork Pattern: Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 16:30 Hours, Friday 08:30 - 16:00 HoursLocation: Various sites across South Yorkshire The overall purpose of the role will be to deliver an effective prevention programme to the communities of South Yorkshire in line with the prevention strategy. This will be done through community engagement focusing on Fire, Road and Water Safety. The role will also cover a variety of areas within the business and part of the role will also involve supporting the facilities team ensuring environmental compliance, assisting with contractor management, and general administration. Develop and maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports and inspection findings. Stay informed about new developments in safety regulations, technologies, best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Conduct, record and manage risk assessments identifying suitable and sufficient controls. Liaise with the Facilities Management and Training teams and support where necessary. Support with the management of fire safety at all their sites. Knowledge, skills, and experience required: Essential: An IOSH, NCRQ, NEBOSH or similar qualification in safety management. At least 2 years experience in a similar role Have the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines Ability to keep up to date with knowledge of health and safety requirements and legislation changes Proven ability to eliminate/mitigate risks in the workplace Full Driving Licence without restrictions. Physically fit and able to be on your feet for periods of time and able to work at height Desirable: Experience of warehousing and office activities Material Handling Equipment Licence (forklifts etc) Knowledge of human ergonomics or advanced manual handing management Experience of working at height Experience with CoSHH and the suitable controls Full time - 40 hours p.w (100% site based) Monday to Friday Salary C.
