They are now seeking a Payroll Administrator / Payroll Clerk to join their growing team who are responsible for 400+ multiple client payrolls consisting of UK Ltd companies & partnerships. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, key duties include:Processing payrolls for all third party client employees on a weekly, fortnightly and/or monthly basisCalculating PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, SPP and other payments as required on behalf of clients (eg student loans, travel loans, expense payments)Reconciling client payrolls ensuring all payrolls processed are accurate and on timeSetting up new payroll & pension schemes for clients with HMRC, and supporting them through the first few payroll cyclesResponsible for CIS payroll schemes and salary sacrifice benefitsDealing with all client, employee, pension provider and HMRC payroll queriesMaintaining accurate employee records and checking payroll updates and their input through the systemEnsuring all RTI submissions are processed accurately and on timeEnsuring all pay slips are processed and managing the submission of pay slip filesProcessing all End Of Year client payrolls in accordance with client contracts and HMRC guidelines (P45s, P46s, P38s etc)Reconciliation of client monies and undertaking audits for data qualityTo be considered for the role you should ideally have experience of working in a complex multi-client payroll environment, with up to date knowledge of UK payroll & pension regulations, year-end processes and UK payroll rules. Experience of RTI and auto-enrolment processing is required as you will be taking responsibility for all end-to-end payrolls, you should also be a self-starter and able to work under your own initiative. Experience of working in another Accounting Firm or a Payroll Bureau would be a distinct advantage, as would expertise in different payroll systems such as Iris, Star, Payroll Professional etcOn offer is a base salary to £38,000 depending on relevant experience, healthcare & pension schemes, 25 days holiday and other flexible benefits. My client are seeking an office-based Payroll Clerk on a temporary to permanent basis in Plymouth. Your new roleIn this newly created Payroll Clerks job, you will join the team and take responsibility of dealing with new starters and checking the data on their in-house payroll system, reviewing uploaded hours for their weekly and monthly payrolls, processing HMRC statutory deductions, making any SMP, SSP payments, raising any adjustment payments and as a team dealing with payroll queries. As an experienced payroll clerk, you will work closely with your relevant department manager, advising them on any payroll queries ranging from starters, leavers, payroll cost clawbacks, late payments and general payroll costings for their department.The role also involves working closely with the wider HR teams in producing offer packs, variations of employment packs, updating centralised HR records and pension administration.What you'll need to succeedAs explained, this is a new full-time payroll job, and we expect you to have proven payroll experience as you will take responsibility for your specific daily tasks and/or manage your own part of the payroll.
