Job Title: Operations and Compliance Manager Location: Bishop's Stortford, CM23 1JH Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per year Job type: Full Time, Permanent. Monday-Friday. 08:00 - 17:00 (1 hour lunch break) Job Summary: The Operations and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. This dual-role position requires a proactive leader who can manage a small team, drive operational efficiency and promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation. Key Area's of Responsibility: Operational Management; Provide day-to-day operational management to the Ops Support Team, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and to a high standard, including covering of tasks during periods of absence or leave.Liaise with management teams across our sites, Yard, and Office as required, offering support and coordination where needed.Creation, maintenance and implementation of Ops Support processes. HR & Team Development; Coordinate performance reviews and support the training and development of the Ops Support team.Manage general office HR tasks, overseeing the coordination of training, management of holiday and absence records, onboarding new starters, and maintaining essential documentation (e.g. driving licence checks, right to work verification). Process & Compliance; Carry out internal audits and spot checks to assess the effectiveness of existing procedures and controls, ensuring consistency and documenting key processes.Support the business in maintaining accreditations, certifications, and memberships, including preparation for and participation in both internal and external audits.Assist with compliance investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures, and supporting customer queries and requests relating to processes. SHEQ & Risk Management; Provide support to the SHEQ team including contributing to the development and review of risk assessments, procedures, and training materials.Assist with the investigation, management, and resolution of insurance claims on behalf of the business. Financial Planning Administrator / Junior Paraplanner - With potential to become qualified paraplanner My client are a well-established Independent Financial Advice firm with offices based near Stansted in Essex. They offer whole of market advice on Pensions, Investments, Tax Planning, IHT, Mortgages and some Protections to wealthy clients across the Essex, London and Anglia regions of England. They also offer Wills and Trusts as well as Powers of Attorney assistance and a string of other services. They have a 30 year history in financial planning and have an established book of clients that continues to grow organically. This practice requires someone with experience of wealth planning operations who is client facing, and willing to nurture and develop relationships with existing clients overseeing their complete wealth management requirements alongside an IFA. This position is suitable to experienced IFA administrators or junior paraplanners who are interested in the service and technical side of the job, and will appeal to those that whilst already competent and experienced administrators may prefer the client facing elements of wealth planning. You’ll not only be responsible for setting up new accounts, putting together new service applications, dealing with and issuing letters of authority etc, but also responsible for producing some reports as well as eing the clients’ first port of call with any queries or concerns. You do not have to have your diploma in financial planning already as training and support towards this qualification will be given. You will be working alongside a long-established Advisor who has built up his client portfolio over the last 20 years, and you will be supported by a keen and ambitious team of administrators who will be keen to learn from you.
