Along with ensuring that plant equipment & machinery is operating efficiently and safely, the maintenance team also contribute to the application of site wide manufacturing principles including 5s and Lean. Now hiring a new Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their settled team, the company are seeking a Multi-Skilled, Apprentice trained Engineer and are open to either Electrically or Mechanically biased candidates. Working within this fast-paced environment, the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer can expect to work on a wide variety of machinery, from PLC controlled automated systems, to vacuum forming machines, CNC Lathes, Mills & Routers, through to hydraulic presses & printing systems. With enhanced overtime pay at time & a half & double time, the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will also have opportunities to expand their professional skills through internal & external training opportunities. Responsibilities Installation & maintenance of all mechanical and electrical plant and machinery.Complete all PPM activities.Troubleshoot & fault finding both mechanical & electrical problems.Use a variety of testing equipment to assist in the diagnosis and remedy of faults.Accurately report on completed work including filling in electronic shift reports and associated paperwork.Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor or maintenance manager regarding equipment or machinery problems.To maintain the positive work atmosphere - contributing through positive communications and actions, ensuring the close co-operation and teamwork continue to be highly valued.Promote lean thinking, looking for ways to improve efficiency and safety both in your team, in other functions or the wider factory.Provide a continuous improvement attitude to all tasks undertaken.Ensure you always follow the health & safety working practices.Are willing to participate in occasional overtime activities.Provide fabrication and machining to assist with breakdown repairs and maintenance activities. Preferred Skills & Experience Have completed an Electrical or Mechanical time served apprenticeship.Hold Level 3 NVQ, C&G or BTEC ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.Have experience of maintenance & troubleshooting across both Mechanical & Electrical machinery required - both Electrical or Mechanical bias is equally of interest.Ability using workshop machinery such as lathes, mills, routers and surface grinders is highly beneficial.Previous experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.Experience of working within a multi-skilled engineering team with excellent communication skills.Current 18th edition electrical wiring regs certification is beneficial but not required.Basic MIG / TIG welding skills are beneficial.
