Investment Manager Our client is a successful venture capital firm based in the North East of England. It invests in founders and entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to technological, social and environmental challenges, to create a better future for people and the environment. It provides the support needed to ensure ambitions are fulfilled - supporting start-ups, scale-ups and ensuring social impact is achieved, investing from funds worth over £55m in sectors including clean tech and healthy ageing, as well as university spin-outs and other early stage tech-based businesses. We’re looking to appoint to an exciting, newly created Investment Manager role where you will support in actively managing relationships with portfolio companies and assist on making new investments, before investing in and managing your own portfolio of companies. Your key duties as Investment Manager will include: Developing and maintaining effective relationships with a number of prospective and existing investee businessesAssisting other team members in the making of new investments and the management of existing portfolio companiesPreparing investment papers for new/follow-on investmentsReviewing and analysing financial and other information for the whole of the portfolio To secure the Investment Manager role you will need: A recent STEM degree - Biology or Biomedical preferred. PHD desirable but not essential.An interest in technology and innovationFinancial analysis and appraisal skills including strong numeracy skills with knowledge and practical experience of interpreting financial information and assessing riskStrong interpersonal skills with ability to work with a wide range of people including investees, applicants, external stakeholders and partner organisationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write reports and give impactful presentations to a range of different audiencesA demonstrable commitment to working collaboratively internally and externallyExcellent IT skills including familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, online communication toolsSelf-motivated, well-organised with the ability to adapt and work flexiblyAn ability to travel across the North East and occasionally nationally Rewards and benefits: Salary £30,000 to £35,000 + attractive benefits packageFull-time, permanent contractTo secure maximum specified pay/rewards, you must possess all outlined experience, skills and knowledgeExcellent progression and development opportunitiesHybrid working Please note: High levels of interest mean we will only contact you if your application is shortlisted and this will happen within five working days.
