Position Overview: Prototype Build Technician As a Prototype Build Technician with an Electric Vehicle (EV) bias, you will play a pivotal role in the whole vehicle build process. Your responsibilities will include component assembly, sub-assembly, and the creation of entire vehicles from the ground up within a bay-build environment. Using your Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim skills, you'll contribute to the development of future automotive models. Key Responsibilities as a Prototype Build Technician: Whole vehicle preparation, assembly, and build, with a primary focus on Mechanical build, Trim and Final Assembly.Mechanical and Electrical assembly tasks, including building components and sub-assemblies from scratch.Creating and assembling entire vehicles within a bay-build discipline, covering Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim aspects.Fitting part/full interior Trim packages with precision and attention to detail.Utilising your extensive knowledge of EVs and Hybrid vehicles to contribute to the prototype process.Reading and interpreting engineer drawings to ensure accurate assembly.Diagnosing and supporting the logging of build issues, contributing to engineering improvements. Working Hours: Day Shift: Monday – Thursday: 8.00am – 16.45pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.30pm (39 hours per week) Contract type: Inside IR35 – Initial 6-month contract with potential of further extension project dependant.
