The successful candidate will hold the BOHS P401 qualification and will have extensive experience carrying out the analysis of asbestos bulk samples, using PLM and stereo microscopy, working in line with HSG 248 guidelines. This role is based in Thurrock and offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about analytical instrumentation and who are results-driven. The successful candidate will be analysing and releasing petroleum products, and working on a shift rota that includes both day and night shifts. Day to day of the role: Testing a variety of petroleum products to ASTM and IP test methods.Preparing and testing sample blends as requested by customers.Preparing and testing quality control samples, standardising reagents and solutions, and calibrating equipment as needed for the testing process.Verifying samples to specifications and communicating results obtained.Making appropriate entries in the required records and systems.Generating reports for release to customers.Receiving and logging in samples for testing on the required systems.Maintaining documentation as required to meet ISO 17025 standards.
