Our Actuarial teams deal with risk on a billion pound scale. What you'll be doing: You will be part of our SME Squad and provide actuarial technical expertise, producing analysis and recommendations to managers and internal partners, to support Reserving, Capital Modelling, Forecasting, Monitoring and associated business decision-making. You will also: Plan, manage and deliver tasks and projects, providing insights and recommendations; lead specialised investigations, produce reports and contribute to the delivery of presentations to internal partners. Research and build models for specific tasks for reserving or for other uses, ensuring that these use appropriate techniques and data and are effective, efficient, high quality, documented and verifiable. Carry out reviews of the analysis prepared by Analysts in the SME Squad; propose reasoned and viable outcomes/results to Category managers. Identify areas where improvements may be made; demonstrate awareness of the teams' requirements to improve modelling and data processes. Maintain awareness of, and comply on an ongoing basis, with the requirements of relevant professional/legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks, e.g. Technical Actuarial Standards, IPL, SOX, PRAIS, SII & UK GAAP requirements. We also do not require the candidate to be qualified - can simply be qualified by experience Responsibilities: Carry out pricing calibrations, provide challenge and oversight of pricing models, model governance, pricing strategy, processes and complianceAssess need for external pricing software support and work closely with IT to improve existing system and embed pricing changesAct as the company’s pricing/data expert reference pointAs part of the Finance team, nurture, and develop a near qualified actuary in the Underwriting Management team to assist in pricing workBuild upon and extend the existing infrastructure so that cutting edge pricing and analytics practices are implemented throughout our commercial business in accordance with the company’s pricing frameworkReview pricing structure and recommend changes based on analysis of performance of different customer segments.Review external and internal data sources for value to insurance pricing and make recommendations.Design and Implement Pricing tests to understand customer behaviour like elasticity.Build and run regular reports/dashboards that highlights performance by different segments.
