Interim Strategic HR Lead (3-6 months)

Location: Oxford City Centre, Hybrid with two days spent in the Oxford office.

Hourly rate: £23.00 - £27.00 per hour PAYE

An established academic client are seeking a dynamic and strategic HR Lead to drive significant improvements within their institution over the next 3 to 6 months. As part of the HR team, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing their HR functions and elevating the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Benefits and Rewards Enhancement: Actively promote benefits and total reward offerings in response to staff survey feedback, ensuring teams feel valued and recognised.
  • Workforce Data Strategy: Develop further and implement a sophisticated approach to workforce data, leveraging HR data reporting and analytics to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Employee Experience Improvement: Focus on elevating employee experience, particularly around onboarding and induction processes, to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for new hires.
  • Flexible and International Working Practices: Develop further our practices and approaches to flexible and international working arrangements, accommodating the diverse needs of staff.
  • Leadership Development: Create a 360-degree feedback system to support leadership and personal development.
  • Leadership Development Refinement: Working collaboratively to refine leadership and management training contributing to the development and enhancement of management skills across the organisation.
  • Development Work Experience: Create a work experience framework.

Essential Skills and Experience: We’re looking for someone with the following qualifications:

  • Interpersonal and Relationship Management: Exceptional skills in building and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Data Analytics in HR: Proven experience in workforce data analytics and reporting, with a keen ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Workforce Planning: Experience of using different approaches in other organisations
  • HR and OD Expertise: Extensive experience in HR and organisational development, preferably within the public sector or higher education sectors, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the complexities and challenges in these environments.
  • Collaboration: A strong team player who excels in collaborative environments and is committed to working alongside colleagues to achieve shared goals.

This position is being offered on an initial 3 to 6 month basis, and will interview and appoint swiftly for the successful candidate.

To be considered you will need to be available at short notice to begin in assignment, and be happy to attend the Oxford offices twice per week.
