How do I search courses?

The easiest way to search is by using the find a course box. This option is perfect if you want to search by certain keywords, such as qualification name or the industry you’d like to go into. Alternatively, you can browse by the individual subjects, and find your ideal subject from there.

Once you have searched for your course, you can then use the sidebar to narrow the results down even further, allowing you to filter by price, method of study, course level and location. You can then find the right course for you, in the right location and at the right price.

If you’re still struggling for inspiration, have a look at the Popular Courses and Popular Searches section by visiting the courses homepage, and browse the individual qualifications from there.

How do I enquire about a course?

Once you’ve found a course you’re interested in, you can request more information via the ‘Enquire Now’ button. Submitting an enquiry doesn’t commit you in any way to taking the course, and there is no obligation to sign up once the relevant information has been provided.

There is no limit to the number of enquiries you can make, so if you’re having trouble deciding which course suits you best, you can request details for any that you’re interested in. Collecting information on multiple courses will allow you to keep your options open, and help you make the right decision.

What happens once I’ve made an enquiry?

Once submitted, your details will be passed on to the specific training provider, who will contact you to provide you with any more information needed. They will also be able to discuss the entry requirements, and explain which types of payment plans may be offered.

Why has my enquiry been rejected?

Each course provider has different entry requirements which students need to meet before starting a course, such as level of previous experience, current level of qualification or language proficiency. If you’re unsure of why you haven’t been accepted, we recommend you contact the course provider directly.

But don't worry, there may be other courses available to you. It’s always important to remember that whatever your circumstances, there will be a course out there for you. If you don’t meet the entry requirements for one provider, you should never lose your motivation or desire to study.

How do I choose a provider?

reed.co.uk lists courses from a wide range of providers to give you the best choice when searching for your course.  If your chosen course is available from a number of different providers, check whether any offer an accredited qualification as part of the course.

Other variables, such as costs, payment options and the method of study a provider offers is also likely to influence your decision. To find out more about each provider, simply click on their logo to view their profile.

Tip: Searching for jobs on reed.co.uk to check whether they mention a particular type of qualification or awarding body as a preferred requirement is a good way to tell how valuable this could be once qualified.

Which study method is right for me?

Those of us with hectic schedules and work commitments may not see how learning can fit into our daily lives, but a lot’s changed since the days of study being confined to colleges and universities. With the rise of online and distance learning, and more and more institutions offering classroom courses closer to home, there’s never been a more convenient time to study.

Online & Distance learning

If you’re already in employment and are looking for a course to increase your skills or work towards a promotion, online or distance learning could be for you.

Online learning is essentially study that is completed entirely online, with all of your learning resources and material accessible via the internet (some examinations will be held at a local exam centre). Distance learning is similar in that resources are often accessible via the internet, but you will also usually receive course material and may be required to attend occasional face to face sessions.

Classroom learning

Those who prefer the traditional classroom setting and motivational aspect of attending face to face lessons may be better suited to classroom learning. These days many classes are held at convenient times to suit all types of schedule, from part time and evening courses, to full time lessons held during the working week. If you have the time to spare to attend lessons, classroom learning is a great way to keep your study on track and make use of all of the amenities on offer.

When choosing a study method it’s important to consider the amount of time you’ll be able to dedicate to study on a weekly basis, considering work, family and social commitments, and the length of time you’d ideally like to complete your course in. A great advantage to online and distance learning is that it allows you to study at your own pace, at a time that’s convenient to you.

Why aren't some prices displayed?

We understand how important costs are when considering study, and we endeavour to be as up-front and clear about prices as possible.

However, many courses are made up of modules meaning the cost of the course can differ depending upon which modules you choose to take. Once you’ve submitted your enquiry to the course provider the full cost of the course will be calculated and explained. Different payment plans may also be provided depending on your specific requirements and current circumstances.
