 FTC - HR Administrator 

Job Title: HR Administrator (Maternity Cover – 6 months)

Reporting to: Chief People Officer

Job Purpose

This is a full time role to cover Maternity Leave.

The HR Administrator will have responsibility for the provision of high quality administration.

Specific areas of focus will include:

Providing high quality administrative support to the HR team

Taking responsibility for ensuring administrative systems are effective, efficient and make best use of technology

Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the team

Administrative Support

  • Provide responsive and professional direct support to the HR Team, ensuring tasks are given due priority and attention
  • Undertake general HR/payroll administration, e.g. drafting letters, maintaining employee files and HR Database (People First), responding to annual leave queries
  • Maintain and update HR database with relevant changes i.e promotions, salary updates, departmental moves
  • Issue log-ins for new starters for the HR system
  • Collation of information and associated report generation for various departments monthly
  • Develop and maintain electronic filing and ensure effective use of shared directories
  • Contribute to project tasks as and when required
  • Actioning reference requests for former employees
  • Responsible for upkeep and the collation of probation reviews and corresponding letters
  • Actioning resignation letters and following the firms leavers process
  • Recording absences on People First
  • Responsible for ensuring Line Managers complete return to work interviews

Miscellaneous

  • To attend staff and departmental meetings as required
  • To undergo training appropriate for the role
  • To uphold the aims and principles of all the firm’s policies
  • Assist with embedding consistent and best practice ways of working and processes
  • Assist with annual activities and/or specific projects e.g. external assessments, salary reviews, and audits

Person Specification

  • Proven numeracy and written skills with very good standards of presentation and accuracy (essential)
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in using Microsoft office for tasks relevant to this role (essential)
  • A proven team player with strong interpersonal skills (essential)
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and adapt to changing demands. (essential)
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge and experience (essential)
  • Enthusiastic attitude and approach to work (essential)
  • Reliable and dependable with a flexible attitude towards work (essential)
  • Ability to maintain absolute discretion and a high level of confidentiality (essential)
  • Knowledge of HR Systems such as People First / Itrent. (desirable)
  • Previous HR Administration or administration experience in a Law firm or Professional Services (desirable)

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: £24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Experience: Human resources: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification: Itrent (preferred)
