Commercial Financial Controller

Trinity House Group is delighted to be supporting one of our favourite clients on a retained basis to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller in the North Birmingham area.

This role is part of the Senior Leadership Team with a genuine seat at the table, you will report to and work closely with an amazing highly engaged Managing Director who is motivated by creating high calibre teams, progressing individuals’ careers and driving improved business performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly profitable and autonomous SME division of a £1b TO + listed business as the #1 on site and be part of something big. The business is about to invest £multi millions into a long-term expansion project of which you will play a leading role. You will partner & influence Director level stakeholders in all areas of the business to deliver strong insightful analysis and add value.

This is a truly commercial role which will see you leading on multiple value add projects, pricing reviews, improving quality of MI, providing robust commercial analysis, influencing key business decisions, partnering Director level stakeholders and ultimately, driving profitability.

We’re looking for a candidate with "big picture thinking" attitude who has the ability & desire to be both hands on and strategic, someone who enjoys problem solving with an inquisitive & continual improvement mindset.

Commercial Financial Controller skills:

• A fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA with industry experience)
• The ability to challenge and influence the Senior Leadership Team
• Experience leading & developing a small high performing team
• Ability & desire to be hands on as well as providing strategic insight
• A highly effective communicator at all levels
• Experience working in a similar commercially focussed role
• Must demonstrate an ability to integrate and work closely with non-finance counterparts in a leadership capacity
• Proactive self-starter and results orientated
• Have an attention to detail that improves forecast integrity, balanced with the ability to see the full financial plan and to be able to articulate the business strategy
• Embraces change and enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment

Commercial Financial Controller package:

• £70,000 - £80,000 pa
• Car Allowance
