Youth Engagement Officer - Bolton - Temp to Perm - Full time

Prospero Teaching is looking for a motivated and resilient person to work as a Teaching Assistant/Youth Worker to support students in an alternative provision in Bolton. If you have had a career in the military, prison service or law enforcement, you will absolutely posses many transferable & necessary skills that are required for this role and you will be an excellent role model to these students.

The school caters for pupils 11-19 who are aiming for successful reintegration back into mainstream education. Students can seem quite disengaged in their studies and need support staying on task and are quite often lacking that positive role model that young people need.

The position is suitable to people who have had a career in the military, emergency services or the prison service. The role will start as a temporary role but will become permanent depending on performance after a probation period.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Bolton
  • Position - Youth Engagement Officer
  • Type of work - Classroom support
  • Start date - ASAP
  • Duration - temp to perm
  • Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - £85 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4 pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (training can be provided)
  • Up to date Prevent Awareness training issued in the last 3 years (training can be provided)
  • Up to date FGM & behaviour management training (training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child & adult barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two references that cover at least the last two years
