We are supporting a growing company in Corby in their search for a Workshop Supervisor.

The purpose of the role is to lead the workshop team to deliver high standards of manufacturing and productivity by example.

The Role

  • Analyse and advise on drawings for production as supplied by customer/commercial team.
  • Plan workflow and workforce to ensure effective production and delivery within assigned timescales and budget, re-tasking colleagues as required to maintain production.
  • Liaise with management team to ensure materials, supplies and equipment are available to ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Coach workshop team to develop and enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Construct products as per the design drawing supplied by the customer/commercial office.
  • Ensure all materials are measured correctly and precisely in accordance with design drawing.
  • Work individually or as part of a team to ensure highest possible standards of production, health and safety and customer service are maintained at all times.
  • Present regular tool box talks to the workshop team to promote safe and effective working practices.
  • Highlight any improvements/queries to the product design as part of UE Group's 'right first time' and 'customer service' ethos.
  • Direct workshop team to ensure workspace and social areas around the site are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times.
  • Ensure all machinery is kept clean and operational; flagging any concerns to the management team.
  • Commit to reducing costs and wastage of materials and time.
  • Engage with colleagues to investigate continuous improvements throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Escalate any concerns regarding colleague performance/behaviour that cannot be resolved on workshop floor.
  • Support management team in implementing initiatives and processes.

The Candidate

  • 3-5 Years in a Supervisory role within the welding industry.
  • Good level of spoken English
  • Proven Team player
  • Ability to interpret Technical Drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Current FLT Licences B1 and/or B2
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of COSHH
  • Electrical and Mechanical experience
  • Qualified First Aider
