Your Role: The Maker's Go-To Workshop Lead

Your job title will be our Workshop and Technical Manager. You’ll be accountable for the following:

  • Inspire Your Team: Lead and grow our team of (currently five) technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and safety.
  • Orchestrate Operations: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, from scheduling and resource allocation to process optimisation.
  • Empower Service Users: Assess and teach new members how to safely use our awesome machinery and troubleshoot any technical hiccups.
  • Champion Safety: Implement and maintain rigorous safety protocols to protect our community and keep creativity flowing.
  • Maintain the Magic: Keep our machines and equipment in tip-top shape through regular maintenance and repairs made easy with our superb maintenance technology.
  • Evolve with Us: Help shape the future of BLOQS by identifying training needs, developing new services, and staying ahead of the curve.

What You Bring

  • Maker Expertise: Hands-on experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment, with a diverse skill set spanning wood, metal, engineering, and at least knowledgeable about digital fabrication.
  • Leadership Prowess: Proven experience leading and motivating teams to achieve their best.
  • Exceptional Communication: The ability to connect with colleagues and customers, sharing your knowledge and passion for making.
  • Can-Do Attitude: A roll-up-your-sleeves mentality and a love for tackling challenges head-on.
  • Organisational Abilities: The ability to prioritise, plan ahead, and keep things running smoothly.
