Job Title: Working Foreman - Residential

Location: Dorchester, Dorset

Salary: Negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise on-site construction activities for commercial, domestic, and residential projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to plan and execute construction tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to construction crews, demonstrating proper techniques and procedures to complete tasks safely and accurately.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules, allocate resources, and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, subcontractors, and team members to provide updates, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, work orders, and material inventory.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred).
  • Proven experience as a foreman or supervisor in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial, domestic, or residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse team of construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.
