About the Organisation

Our client supports the needs of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans.

Their helpline supports people with a range of different issues.

Their Intake Service is the first point of contact for people wishing to access their services and helps people identify support needs, goals, safety planning and onwards referrals, both internally and externally.

They are now looking for a Wellbeing Officer to join their team on a part-time basis, working 18.5 hours per week for a nine month fixed term contract.

The Role

As a Wellbeing Officer, you will provide advice and support to users of our client’s services remotely and digitally through their Helpline Service.

Delivering calls to people from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and needs, you will ensure the people you are speaking to are safe from harm and abuse, signpost them to relevant services and deliver brief interventions, where appropriate.

You will also manage a caseload of service users to complete one-off Initial Intake Assessments for people who have been referred to the service, working with them to identify their goals, completing support plans and making referrals to internal and external services.

Additionally, you will:

- Monitor and reply to helpline emails
- Complete risk assessments
- Assist with the administration of referral pathways
- Keep records of all service user interactions

This role will include regular evening and weekend work.

About You

To be considered as a Wellbeing Officer, you will need:

- Experience supporting individuals with varying levels of need
- Experience conducting risk assessments and creating safety and support plans
- Experience communicating with people who are distressed and/or have barriers to communication
- An understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities and their needs
- To have received training (either formal or through experience) of safeguarding and have carried out risk assessments within the scope of practice
