Position: Aerospace Welding Engineer - Manufacturing & Engineering
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK - Site Based
Salary Range: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

In collaboration with our longstanding client, a prominent global aerospace manufacturer, Verus Recruitment Partners are excited to announce an opportunity for an Aerospace Welding Engineer at their Sheffield Site. This role is crucial for the client's Special Process team, aimed at enhancing and ensuring the precision of aerospace welding techniques, reflecting the firm's dedication to quality and innovation.

Role Overview:

The Aerospace Welding Engineer will be central to maintaining the excellence and compliance of the client's welding processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in not only adhering to industry standards but also in driving the manufacturing practices forward. This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant contribution to the forefront of aerospace manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure all welding activities surpass customer and regulatory standards, inclusive of maintaining NADCAP accreditations for the client.
  • Process Enhancement: Take the lead in refining welding methods to boost efficiency and reduce non-conformances, directly impacting the client's operational excellence.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide robust support on welding-related matters, facilitating the creation of technical documentation and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges.
  • Advancement and Improvement: Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and productivity within the welding department, promoting continuous growth and development.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Industry Experience: Boasting at least 5 years in the aerospace sector with a focus on welding, supported by a relevant qualification or extensive industry experience.
  • Specialist in Accreditation: Experience in maintaining NADCAP or OEM accreditation for welding, demonstrating capability in leading successful audits for the client.
  • Technical Proficiency: A solid foundation in materials/metallurgy, adept at managing the review and implementation of specifications and drawings from customers and third parties.
