Job Summary
To join a flexible welding & fabrication team, includes duties; weld repairs of machine dies for forging process, production stub welding for the remelting process, welding lifting lugs on material for the vacuum induction melting process, general site repairs & providing assistance to the maintenance team. The forge tool welding includes assessment of worn tools, removal of worn material as required via milling or burning operation and weld repair using the prescribed MMA / TIG processes. The stub welding process includes MIG welding a profiled stub to an electrode that is used within the remelting process. The maintenance assistance to include various types of weld preparations, welding and weld finishing operations to internal customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Assessment, weld repair and machining of GFM forging dies
• Proficiency in Gas, MMA, MIG & TIG welding techniques
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of materials used
• Knowledge of fixtures and weld set up parameters
• Knowledge of conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Equipment maintenance
