Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of a passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service. 

Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the year. You'll work 500 hours over the duration of your contract which includes regular weekend shifts; to be discussed at interview.

As the role includes visiting the wider estate carparks occasionally, to engage with our visitors and check on carpark compliance a full valid UK driving licence will be required, as some driving in company vehicles will form part of your role.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll work within a team comprising of six staff and up to eight different volunteers, daily. 

Enchanted wooded parkland, sweeping gardens and a house with a surprise, Dudmaston is something unexpected in the Shropshire countryside. A much loved home for over 875 years. Amazing gardens, a house containing collections of modern art and sculpture and family rooms which are open to our visitors. 

At our wider estate hub in Comer woods you can walk, run or ride the prepared trails through the beautiful woodlands. You can even grab a coffee from the Café in Comer, as you go. 

What you'll be doing

Visitors are a vital part of what we do. As the Welcome & Service Assistant it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day. In this role, you will be based at the Visitor Reception at Dudmaston Hall or our wider estate Hub in Comer Woods and on occasions, at other locations around the wider estate. 

Working on our property tills, you'll sell admission tickets, process payments of activities and events, promote our Growing Support strategy (Memberships/Donations/Fundraising) and sign-up new members to National Trust. You'll promote events, offers, products and benefits, supporting across the property/portfolio when required.

Working alongside staff or volunteers, you'll give a great welcome to property visitors on one day. You'll be helping the property team with an event at Comer Woods, on another. You'll provide information, orientation and monitoring car park standards and compliance on the wider estate car parks and on occasions helping to maintain the presentation standards of the visitor facilities. You may also be receiving book donations and helping the volunteers in our bookshops or helping a visitor take out a Tramper mobility vehicle, for a free hire. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion.
