Job Title: Weekend Wellbeing Assistant

Location: Christchurch, BH23 2UG

Salary: Up to £ 12.20 per hour, Saturday and Sunday 15 hours

Job Type: Part time, Permanent

The Role:

We are looking for a confident, fun and vibrant Wellbeing Assistant to join our wonderful Fairmile Grange Care Home in Christchurch.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing events and activities catering to a range of interests, from arts and crafts, music sessions, physical exercises, to cognitive game for our wonderful residents. You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills as you will engage with residents and often their families to understand their personal interests, hobbies, and preferences to tailor activities accordingly.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is compassionate, enjoys working with the elderly, is creative in coming up with engaging activities, and values the importance of enhancing the well-being of residents in a care home setting.

Main duties and responsibilities of a Wellbeing Assistant:

  • Talking with residents and reminiscing.
  • Reading to residents.
  • Helping and supporting residents as they participate in activities with the supervision of our Wellbeing Manager.
  • Accompanying residents outside the home or on trips out.

Skills and experience you need as a Wellbeing Assistant:

  • Have previous experience within a similar capacity (Care, Care Assistant, Support Worker.
  • Have a creative flair with a range of practical skills e.g. arts & crafts.
  • Ability to motivate and engage people with good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to assist with planning a calendar of activities.
  • Able to create an environment where customers feel able to participate and contribute ideas.
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually.
