We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Wealth Management Associate to join this remarkable team based in London.

This role will play a crucial part in the ongoing success of the office, particularly in driving cross-border initiatives and transactions for affluent individuals, family offices, trustees, and financial institutions.

About the Role

  • The chosen Associate will hold a significant position, collaborating closely with senior associates and Partners within the team.
  • Moreover, the Associate should take on an immediate and managerial role, directly engaging with clients and other offices across EMEA and globally.

The responsibilities of this role:

  • Offering counsel to internationally mobile clients, such as foreign nationals and entrepreneurs residing or investing in the UK, advising on planning structures, and executing substantial cross-border and tax transactions for high-value clients and financial institutions.
  • Cultivating enduring relationships with an existing client base while forging new connections.
  • Strengthening collaborative ties with other departments within the London office, including Litigation, Employee Benefits, and broader Tax teams.
  • Engaging in business development endeavors and promoting the firm actively while seeking out new opportunities.
  • Collaborating within a team environment, including assisting with supervising the work of junior lawyers and trainees, and actively contributing to knowledge sharing and experience exchange within the team.

The Team

  • The Wealth Management team focuses on advising ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, trustees, and banks on intricate cross-border tax and trust-related matters.
  • This encompasses strategic tax planning and asset structuring for high net worth individuals, advising on the establishment and operation of family offices and their investments, as well as offering counsel on pre-litigation strategy and tax investigations.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • A qualified wealth management associate/tax advisor (mid-level lawyer or accountant) with experience in UK tax planning for international and UK UHNW individuals and families, alongside their family offices.
  • Profound experience and comprehensive knowledge of the taxation of UK resident non-UK domiciliaries and international tax planning.
  • Previous experience at a London firm or a leading regional law firm specializing in this field or an accountancy firm.
  • First-rate technical skills essential to support departmental client work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to excel in a client-facing role catering to a culturally diverse client base.
  • Outstanding written communication and drafting skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • High standards of work and outstanding communication skills adaptable to various situations.
