Our Client is a speciality supplier and manufacturer of raw materials and chemicals for the UK Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food Manufacturing Industries.

They are now seeking a Warehouse Operative. This position will be based in Redditch, Worcestershire and is a full-time permanent role.

Job Purpose

  • To support the receipt, storage, repacking, re-labelling and dispatch of both chemical and non-chemical goods in the Warehouse.
  • The Warehouse Operative will assist with the unloading of vehicles, checking the stock against the purchase order and allocate items to the appropriate racking location in accordance with safe storage requirements.
  • The role holder will collate items from throughout the warehouse, preparing them for dispatch in line with order requirements and in accordance with the schedule. The Warehouse Operative will work with an industrial powder automated sieving and repacking system.

Key Responsibilities

Re-labelling of goods:

  • Receipting goods, recording the product, batch and quantity with accuracy. Identify and report damages.
  • Selecting, identifying and preparing appropriate packaging for jobs where applicable.
  • Removing labels using a variety of techniques, labels must be removed intact to be able to keep a copy.
  • Printing off labels, creating or amending labels as per instruction, accurately applying information as required.
  • Applying labels to packaging with care and attention.
  • Banding and hand wrapping pallets.
  • Adhering to all Labelling Instructions to carry out the task correctly and to customer requirement.
  • Write DGN if required for HAZMAT.

Receipt and dispatch of goods:

  • Receipt and dispatch of goods following SOP’s.
  • Identifying and reporting any product defects.
  • Checking in delivery orders are correct.
  • Processing goods in on IT system.

Re-packing of goods:

  • Receipting goods, recording the product, batch and quantity with accuracy. Identify and report damages.
  • Selecting, identifying and preparing appropriate packaging for jobs where applicable.
  • Safe sieving, re-packing and labelling of chemical products.
  • Banding and hand wrapping pallets.
  • Adhering to all works instructions to carry out the task correctly and to customer requirement.

Health and Safety:

  • Adhering to all work instructions provided.
  • Ensure correct Handling.
  • Safe use and application of PPE.
  • Monitoring, recording and maintenance of PPE.
  • Understanding COSHH and SDS assessments for first aid and PPE requirements.
  • Monitoring equipment and appliances.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good organisational skills.
  • Reliability and dependability.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out manual labour.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation to work hard.
  • Good IT literacy skills.
  • Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
  • Forklift driver license, first aid and fire marshal training is desirable but not essential

In return, our Client is offering a basic salary of up to £26,000 per annum, (salary is negotiable and dependent on experience), plus benefits.
