Volunteer Coordinator
Working as an integral part of the Event Team, you will be responsible for helping to source and recruit volunteers for the events, providing administrative support relating to all volunteer planning for the events, plus supporting the Event Team with overall planning and logistics. This is an extremely hands on role in a busy environment, covering everything and anything required to deliver a high profile event. This role is suited to an individual that is a natural communicator and who will enjoy building relationships with individuals, groups and companies.
Key Responsibilities of a Volunteer Coordinator
- Managing volunteer adverts and promotions, ensuring they are live and up to date at volunteer centres, universities and the many organisations that are used.
- Keeping frequent communication, building rapport and relationships with existing and new Volunteers by phone and email, and responding to any queries that arise.
- Ensure all our supporters are made to feel welcomed and cared for by the charity, and above all appreciated.
- Contacting organisations who have previously provided groups of volunteers to re-establish the relationship and encourage them to do so again.
- Sourcing new organisations and companies who would be interested in incorporating the brand into their charitable responsibility programmes.
- Assisting the Support Team with the volunteer enrolment process, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and accurately.
- Taking responsibility for key volunteer checks, ensuring that all documentation is received in good time.
- Production, preparation and packing of all pre event and event volunteer materials including documents, maps, signage and other materials as required
Key Attributes of a Volunteer Coordinator
- Strong administration experience
- Experience and enjoyment of using the telephone both to receive and make calls
- The ability to be self-motivated
- Organised and creative with high attention to detail verbally and written
- Can-do attitude, analytical and problem solving skills
- 8 GCSE’s or equivalent
- A Level qualifications or equivalent
