Do you currently live in or around Stockport?

We are looking for experienced and proven tutors alongside motivated PGCE and QTS teachers around the area who are planning on stepping into either online or face to face tuition (or both preferably) to support students from ages 4-17. Common subjects that tutors may teach include core subjects (Maths, English, Science), ESOL, ESL, Humanities, Business, Economics, Mentoring (you do not necessarily have to teach all of these).

You must be prepared to undergo a safeguarding/registration process before working with our student. This will include basic legal checks such as registering for a DBS (which we will pay for), e-learning training modules (also free of charge), references and some other essential checks.

Being a Randstad Tutor offers you:

  • Flexibility to manage your own timetable and workload allowing a healthy work-life balance
  • Access to a high volume of both face to face and online bookings to ensure you are satisfied with workload.
  • Free e-learning training modules
  • Opportunity for school holiday tuition delivery
  • Access to an online tuition delivery platform
  • Chance to gain some vital experience for those who are unqualified but have tutored previously.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference to pupils' outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implementing lesson plans based on the preferred learning style of the students.
  • Evaluating student development and pinpointing areas in need of development and documenting achievement levels using our internal reporting system.
  • Ensure every session produces quantifiable results.
  • Collaborate cooperatively with educational stakeholders to ensure student support.
  • Operate in compliance with the KCSIE and safeguarding principles.

Desired experience:

  • Experienced in teaching or tutoring one to one or small groups of pupils (essential)
  • Experience in taking supervision and correction constructively
  • Experience working in inclusion units, special settings or alternative provisions (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience in working with students with SEN, children with undiagnosed SEN, disengaged young people or looked after children (desirable but not essential)

Essential qualities:

  • Inspirational, effective & flexible communications skills
  • Competent IT skills, access to laptop/computer, audio and visual
  • Stable broadband & internet connection if seeking online tuition role.
  • Ability to develop meaningful relationships, encourage and motivate students.

If this sounds like it's for you, apply here or email if you wish to find out more about the role and how suitable you may be for it. We look forward to hearing from you!
