Verification & Validation Manager

Location: Crewe, Cheshire East (Flexible hybrid working - 60% on-site)

Our client, a leading automotive company, is seeking a Validation Manager to join their team for a temporary contract of 12 months. As a Validation Manager, you will work closely with the Functional Manager Whole Vehicle Verification and Validation to contribute to the organisation's product ambitions and shape their Beyond100 strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Engineer with a strong background in whole vehicle verification and validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Verification & Validation Plan (VVP) for new projects, utilising systems engineering processes.
  • Manage and develop the VVP from Level 1-n, challenging validation techniques (Virtual, Rig & physical).
  • Align VVP with Platform, R&D, and Quality teams.
  • Ensure project deliverables, milestones, and KPIs are met, including managing vehicle preparation and updates, leading concern resolution, and managing outsourced work and budgetary requirements.
  • Maintain specialist technical knowledge and provide technical direction to other functions/engineers.
  • Influence the strategic validation direction and develop technical roadmaps within the area.
  • Build and maintain relationships and communications with group counterparts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Engineer, with a focus on whole vehicle verification and validation.
  • In-depth understanding of systems engineering and validation plans.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work across functional groups.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills up to Board level.
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle deliverables, test and measurement requirements, and applicable legislative and environmental requirements.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Preferably Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
  • Proficiency in the German language would be an advantage.
