Service Care Solutions have a fantastic opportunity for a Vehicle Mechanic to join a local authority client we are working with in Gloucestershire on a Permanent basis.

In the position of Vehicle Mechanic, you will contribute to the high standard of maintenance of the fleet of vehicles and equipment for Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service (GFRS) and Gloucestershire County Council (GCC). You will provide advice, maintenance & repair expertise over a wide range of vehicles, including, mechanical, auto electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic disciplines primarily to meet the needs of The Fire and Rescue Service, and Gloucestershire County Council (GCC).

You will primarily conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on all firefighting vehicles, cars, vans, pick-ups, and other ancillary vehicles including watercraft (Ribcraft boats) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines to ensure legal requirements are met and agreed standards are maintained. You will also have responsibility for conducting minor repairs to vehicles and plant bodywork and finishing to the required standard as well as maintaining relevant records and job cards for all repairs.

We are seeking a candidate who has excellent organisational skills who can prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and ensure service levels are maintained.
Using industry fleet experience to manage expectations, effectively challenge and drive delivery is imperative in this role.
We are looking for applicants who are methodical and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach.

Basic working hours are Monday to Friday working 37 hours per week from 0630-1530 or 0900-1700 with the ability to work on a Call Out Rota (Paid)
