Role: Vehicle Maintenance and Customer Service Executive

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £27 - 29,500 depending on experience

Location: Henley-in-Arden B95

We are working on behalf of an award winning organisation experiencing fantastic organic growth, which ranks in the top 50 companies within their industry sector in the UK. Due to their continued expansion, they are seeking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Maintenance and Customer Service Executive, to join their existing Vehicle Maintenance team reporting into the Operations Team Leader. For the successful candidate, there will be opportunities for further progression as the business continues to accelerate and grow into new markets.

This role will be focused on providing technical support to customers and a variety of stakeholders. A strong understanding of the motor trade is essential for this position, supported ideally with a NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Mechanics. The successful candidate must have the ability to challenge and negotiate in a professional manner. Previous experience in a vehicle workshop or car dealership environment would be preferable.

This is a full-time position office based position working Monday to Friday 9am until 5.30pm with 1 hour lunch. This is a fast paced and dynamic environment whereby you can add value utilising your technical vehicle knowledge to ensure the business operates within SLAs, improves quality of repairs, reduces costs and downtime whilst maintaining a best in class service for customers.

Role and responsibilities:

  • As a Vehicle Maintenance Customer Service Executive, you will utilise your vehicle knowledge to provide technical support to customers and closely liaise with workshops and dealerships
  • Responsible for handling all aspects of vehicle planned service and maintenance jobs as well as handling urgent breakdowns and repair incidents
  • Supporting a varied customer portfolio with monitoring vehicle data to provide proactive maintenance and repair intervention measures
  • Liaising with workshops and dealers to closely manage and challenge costs with all vehicle lifecycle activity costs such as MOTs, service, maintenance and repairs
  • Assist colleagues with completing daily reviews to reduce WIP and minimise downtime due to repairs taking place
  • Responsible for closely managing and monitoring supplier breakdown portal to ensure any unplanned service, maintenance or repair issues are accurately recorded and handled through to conclusion
  • Responsible for work in progress and chasing updates for vehicles and accurately updated in the inhouse database in line with SLAs
  • Provide a best in class service by closely handling customer needs in an efficient manner from start to finish with a satisfactory conclusion
  • Regularly liaise with a variety of internal colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders in a professional manner by phone and email
  • Work to achieve targets and company objectives

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven demonstrable work history in a workshop, dealership or garage is essential
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Mechanics desirable
  • Must have a technical / mechanical understanding of all aspects of vehicle service, repairs and maintenance for credibility when liaising with stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential
  • Proactive nature as well as ability to react to urgent situations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to build relationships and positively challenge or negotiate
  • Team player
