Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a number of Vehicle Fitters/Strippers based in Earls Colne on a temporary to permanent basis.

The successful candidates will be responsible for commissioning vehicles for Emergency Service use, to the customer’s specifications, ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 Quality System and H&S requirements.

The successful candidates will ideally have automotive technical experience, either professionally or as a personal hobby or will have other electrical or mechanical experience relevant to the role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out production activities to convert vehicles
  • Inspecting vehicles for condition and compliance
  • Building vehicles in accordance with instruction, whether written or verbal
  • Ensuring the vehicles is fully compliant with required specification
  • Working from drawings
  • Stripping interior of vehicles including seats, electrics, controls etc.
  • Fitting interior of vehicles and replacing parts
  • Using hand tools and power tools

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Ideally have experience in an automotive technical role
  • Ability to work from drawings and independently
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Previous experience in using hand tools and power tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • Have an interest and understanding of basic vehicle mechanics/maintenance
  • Have an interest and understanding of basic vehicle strip out and fit out

Working hours are Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00.

In return our client offers a starting salary between £12.50 - £14.50 per hour depending on experience.
