Vehicle Registration Data & Audit Compliance Manager

  • £50,000 - £55,000
  • Initial 2 years Fixed Term Contract

The UK automotive landscape is evolving. 2024 marks a significant timeline in the UK’s decarbonization strategy and the introduction of independent vehicle certification. From January 2024, 22% of passenger car (and 11% of light commercial vehicle) registrations are required to be zero emissions at the tailpipe.

Therefore, we are on the hunt for a Vehicle Registration Data & Audit Compliance Manager who has at least 4-5 years of experience within regulatory/ compliance setting to join our Global automotive OEM, voted one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to work for in the UK.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can partner with our client’s sales & supply team, helping them to navigate registration data to ensure compliance with the targets. You’ll own the administration and application for credits via the vehicle emissions trading scheme for eligible vehicle sales. In addition, liaison with government, working groups & SMMT will be required on behalf of the company.

The role also encompasses the management of the client’s local vehicle type approval function. This is a critical business function, ensuring vehicles destined for the UK can be sold and registered. You will have a direct report to support and manage aspects of the function, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordination with Client’s Global offices to collate technical information and submit applications for type approval.
  • Manage and maintain the physical labelling requirements at their UK Hub.
  • Liaise with the VCA to facilitate their Conformity of Production audit schedule of our manufacturing plants globally.
  • Addressing queries arising in relation to the Scheme.

What you’ll get to own

  • Management and administration of Vehicle Emissions Trading Scheme (VETS)
  • Management of UK type approval process
  • Interaction with industry committees as company representative

Essential

  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Attention to detail, analysis and critical thinking skills
  • 4-6 years’ experience in a regulatory/compliance setting
  • ISO certification, Financial management or any Environmental qualification
  • Extracting outcomes from data and using data to influence decisions
  • You have a growth mindset and are content to challenge the status quo

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an OEM or other automotive environment
