Vehicle Buyer

My Client has an opportunity for a Buyer to join their new Car Supermarket based in Watford (stocking 450+ pre owned vehicles). We are looking for a highly organised, collaborative and flexible person to be part of our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working towards targets that give them the opportunity to earn more! Your role is to buy cars from customers who make an appointment for you to visit them at their home or place of work. This role would suit an experienced Car Sales Executive / Buyer with exceptional customer service, influencing skills and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• The role involves purchasing vehicles for the business and travelling to multiple locations within a 70-mile radius from Watford.
• Ensure vehicles purchased, meet our strict specifications and that the refurb costs are aligned to budget.
• Appraise cars accurately and negotiate effectively.
• Provide customers with detailed quotations and cost calculations.
• Identify and communicate risk and resolve any supplier issues which may impact business operations.
• Work closely with other departments and review opportunities for continuous and business improvements.
• Contact suppliers to negotiate price, quality, delivery, or invoices issues.
• Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.

Key Skills/Experience Required

• Full driving licence.
• Knowledge of automotive industry and vehicle features is advantageous.
• Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mechanical and Bodywork Knowledge.
• Previous Automotive experience essential.
• Experience of working in a target driven sales environment.
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to appraise, persuade, negotiate and maximise.
• Excellent administration skills.
