Vector Aerospace’s apprentices earn while they learn and at the same time contribute to our Maintenance and Repair and Overhaul operation in support of our industry leading customers.

Our Mechanical Apprenticeship and Technical Services Apprenticeship Schemes at Gosport, are recognised amongst the best in the industry and we pride ourselves on the delivery of invaluable engineering skills whilst offering a culture of lifelong learning and development.

These Apprenticeships facilitate first class technical skills and offer entry into a career in Aeronautical and Technical Services Engineering.

You can expect comprehensive training and hands on work experience over three years including in depth aerospace instruction, theory of flight, engines and aircraft systems and control engineering. All of this will be supported by key skills enhancing individual personal development to an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) accredited programme.

Once you have successfully completed the apprenticeship scheme you will have an NVQ 2 and 3 in Engineering, an advanced apprenticeship certificate and the appropriate technical certificate, all in addition to the extensive work-based experience.

To be considered for an apprenticeship with us you will need to be on target to achieve, or have achieved 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or equivalent to include Maths, English, Science & ICT within the last 5 years. Consideration may be given to those having achieved Functional Skills at a level 2 in the last 5 years for these subjects. It would be desirable for experience or qualifications in another technical bias subject at Grade C or above. You will also enjoy working with others, be a problem solver and also have a great deal of self-motivation.

There may also be the opportunity to fast-track through the Apprentice Programme any apprentice who demonstrates the appropriate aptitude, attitude and successes.
