Robert Walters are delighted to have partnered with a global consumer brand, who are looking for an ambitious VAT Manager to join on a permanent basis in a newly created role.

Sitting within the Corporate Tax and VAT team and reporting into the Senior Tax Manager, this VAT Manager role will be responsible for managing all VAT compliance obligations of the UK business, as well as identifying opportunities and implementing changes in order to reduce VAT risk.

Key responsibilities of this VAT Manager role include:

  • Partner with other finance and non-finance teams to aid the understanding of correct VAT treatments and accounting for transactions.
  • Manage relationships with external VAT advisors.
  • Manage queries from HMRC on all VAT related matters, and act as the key point of contact for HMRC from a VAT perspective.
  • Support VAT Analyst when needed, and act as a point of escalation for any technical VAT matters.
  • Prepare and review the VAT returns for the UK and Irish VAT registrations, with support from the VAT analyst.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent with significant in-direct tax experience.
  • Experience with indirect tax implications in relation to selling goods, including cross border supplies.
  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and compliance issues.
  • Prior knowledge of accountancy for VAT purposes.

Package details:

  • £70,000 base salary
