VAT Manager

Our client is a Birmingham based practice which is growing all the time with a wide range of clients.

They are recruiting for a VAT Manager.

THE ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking to take their career to the next stage within the VAT department of a dynamic and fast-paced practice. They have a team of 4 and are now looking for a Manager to develop the team even further.

You will be involved in providing high quality VAT advice to clients. The VAT work is taken care of team members so your input in the compliance space will be mainly around reviewing, working through more complex VAT returns and ad-hoc queries on technical matters.

Alongside the existing team, you will be working on:

·VAT & registrations and deregistration’s

·Helping with HMRC enquiries

·Dealing with VAT queries from clients

·Helping with client take-on processes

·Managing billing

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

·Mentoring junior team members, providing coaching and performance feedback

·Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

·Staying up-to-date with relevant tax legislation and sharing knowledge with the team

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

·Ideally AAT level 4 qualified, or part way through study

·Relevant VAT experience, gained in practice

Other skills and abilities

·Strong technical knowledge of VAT legislation

·Strong written and verbal communication skills

·Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

·Ability to review technical guidance and legislation to problem solve

·Willingness to learn and expand knowledge base

On offer is a competitive salary, circa £35,000 pa, dependent on qualifications and experience
