UX/UI Designer - Gaming Experience Required

Start: ASAP
Length: 6 months (extension potential)
Location: Leicester (hybrid OR UK remote with occasional travel to site)

Rate: £386PD PAYE (eq. to £450PD Umbrella, or £90k)
Engagement: Inside IR35 - PAYE via Trust in Soda

If you're a keen gamer, chances are you've already caught wind of our client's games. With every day bringing new challenges and discoveries in equal measure, there's never been a more rewarding time to join them! They're seeking an extremely talented Senior UI/UX Designer to work collaboratively with the web development team in producing websites, UI/UX and applications in support of the games.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with the extensive design and development teams to deliver modern, exciting solutions in support of the next games
  • Create and explain solutions from wireframe designs through to final polished live product
  • Use your extensive modern web and technology knowledge to provide unique ideas and solutions
  • Be able to estimate time and deliver content in a timely manner and to deadlines
  • Partner with Content/Community and various other teams to formulate any required assets
  • Be flexible and eager to help where you can, whether it's with the latest web project or in game UI


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the games industry, with an exceptional portfolio to show!
  • Extensive experience as a UI/UX Designer within a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Exceptional design skills, production values and attention to detail.
  • Expert in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience in designing and extending pattern libraries, design systems etc.
  • Experience in modern UI tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Axure RP etc.
  • Excellent conceptualisation ability, able to work from sketches through to final stage.
  • Ability to create wireframes and visual design comps.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of layout, usability and function across multiple devices and browsers.
  • A track record of self-starting and driving the necessary steps to achieve success.


DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about modern design and UI; demonstrably keen to bridge the gap between game and web UI and the problems that lie within.
  • Self-managing and organised with excellent artistic sensibilities.
  • Good technical understanding of how to create optimised UI.
  • Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript and common web application development practices.
  • Willing to both request and take feedback.
  • Able to iterate and improve design from self and stakeholder feedback.
  • Excellent cross-team communication and influencing skills.
