This is a fantastic opportunity to join as an Undergraduate Trainee Financial Accountant for your placement yearwith Saint-Gobain where the focus will be to support our manufacturing clients with their accounting and reporting functions.

As a Trainee Financial Accountantwith Saint-Gobain the key responsibilities are:

• Prepare and post all accruals and journal entries into SAP as agreed with clients
• Reconcile sub-ledgers with General Ledger
• Perform the fixed asset accounting, reporting and reconciliation process
• Finalise month end inter-company reconciliation processes in liaison with AP, CM and AR team members
• Prepare monthly and yearly balance justifications and balance sheet reconciliation files
• Ensure that all work conforms to current internal control procedures
• Populate the group reporting packages with the financial data
• Assist in the preparation of periodical declarations such as VAT and PSA etc
• Anticipate month end processes to ensure smooth and efficient closing
• Respect closing calendar
• Assisting with and supporting internal and external audit visits and requirements; including preparation of reports, schedules and procedures

• IT literate (knowledge of MS Office tools particularly Excel & Word)
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative
• Good degree of accuracy & numeric skills
• Results oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
• Adherence and awareness of internal controls
• Ability to learn new systems (training will be given for SAP ERP system and in house reporting tool)
