An international trading house seeks an experienced Tubular Advisor to join their Oil Country Tubular Goods Unit, based in Aberdeen.

The Tubular Advisor is responsible for the OCTG section of the tubular products department. This role supports the Sales & Contracts Manager with regards to forecasting, planning, accessory manufacturing, and new mill orders across all Supply chain management projects.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: £35-45K depending on experience, plus good benefits
LOCATION: Aberdeen (hybrid working available)

Tubular AdvisorCORE DUTIES:

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and the ability to identify and report potential HSE issues
  • To meet with the project customers to discuss future requirements and to prepare a detailed forecast which will be used to control operations and initiate new mill orders
  • Develop new business through managing relationship with current and potential customers
  • Commercial control of the enquiry and supervise quotation preparation process for project and ad hoc enquiries
  • Detailed commercial preparation of offers, direct negotiation with suppliers and price setting for accessory and ad hoc OCTG demands
  • To lead the preparation of credit applications and to monitor and ensure that project inventory levels operate within their assigned financial limits
  • Supervision of OCTG material movement operations across projects including:
  • Optimisation of inventory levels.
  • Ensure aged inventory is prioritised for use.
  • Monitor and control the stock accuracy of customer owned inventory
  • Liaise directly with the oil company engineers and Drilling Material Controllers
  • Maintain the inventory plan for each project and identify when new orders need to be placed
  • Coordinate and supervise the Inventory Controller to raise and issue new mill order
  • Interface with third party contractors to ensure satisfactory contractual performance
  • Attend internal and external planning meetings as required to perform job responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit required management reports
  • Action commercial opportunities in the sale of surplus OCTG and supervise these opportunities to completion
  • To take part in scheduled training courses and on the job training in the ongoing pursuit of personal and professional development

Tubular AdvisorIDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Good operational and technical knowledge of OCTG products
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management contracts
  • Experience in drilling support or Supply chain management environment with a specific focus on oil country tubular goods preferable (OCTG)
  • Thorough understanding of inventory management, forecasting & planning and ordering OCTG to mill specifications
  • ITIMS, SAP and Compliance training and practical application of processes. Candidate should have a thorough understanding of all company systems and procedures
