Role: Cash and Liquidity Risk Manager

About the role: Seeking a skilled Treasurer to manage the company's cash and liquidity risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimise liquidity positions. The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, pragmatic, and possess a strong understanding of cash and liquidity management in the financial industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Cash Position / Liquidity Reporting: Prepare daily net cash reports, provide commentary on material movements, reconcile to Finance data, and monitor against internal liquidity stress tests and regulatory limits. Submit quarterly MIF002 report.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Develop short-term cash projections by currency and entity for day-to-day cash management, as well as long-term cash flow projections by entity for strategic planning.
  • Optimizing Yield on Cash and Cash Equivalents: Develop and implement strategies for effective cash and liquidity management, including cash management, monitoring and managing concentration risk, and maintaining relationships with banks and trading counterparties.
  • Intercompany Management: Manage intercompany flows, develop borrowing limits, provide visibility of intercompany positions to entity management, and develop a framework for allocating costs across the group.
  • FX Liquidity Management: Forecast and plan FX hedging requirements for operating expenses and other material expenditure.
  • Process Improvement / Automation Projects: Work with the Business Intelligence team to develop systematic reporting and analytics. Support systems migration and integration projects.
  • Annual Liquidity Assessments and Policy Documentation: Conduct annual ILAA assessments, validate assumptions, document methodology for liquidity stress testing, support wind-down planning and RRP analysis, and identify potential liquidity risks and develop contingency plans.

  • Optimized Liquidity Position: Maintain an optimal liquidity position while balancing business needs, regulatory requirements, and market conditions.
  • Effective Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies to protect against cash and liquidity-related risks.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting on cash and liquidity positions, demonstrating compliance with regulations and internal policies.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing expert guidance on cash and liquidity management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in cash and liquidity risk management within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in cash and liquidity risk management.
