leading Travel Clinic company is looking to recruit a (Part-Time)Travel Health Nurse in their Travel clinic based in Steyning. You will also support some off-site projects in the Gatwick Area as our customers prepare to travel!

  • Fixed Term - 6-12 months
  • up to £40,000pa (Pro rata)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Part time hours of 2/3 days per week
  • 8 Hours per day – between the hours of 08:00 & 18:00
  • 25 days annual leave

We are looking for experienced Registered Nurse to join our Travel clinic in Steyning to provide travel & occupational health services to our customers. You will also support some Off-site projects in the Gatwick Area as our customers prepare to travel!

Our Travel Health Nurse will review & assess customer’s needs, provide advice on travel services and vaccinations , administer vaccinations inline with customer travel plans……whilst getting to know them and hearing all about their travel plans!

You need to be a Registered UK nurse with a valid pin number and a NMC registration ….if you have a  Diploma in Travel Medicine or Occupational health experience , Even better!

Travel Health Nurse: Key reasonabilities
  • Provide travel health and occupational health risk assessments and advice to clients both in the travel clinic, pharmacy, or other healthcare setting and on the telephone.
  • Administer relevant immunizations, anti-malarial prophylaxis, occupational health medication and other medicines in line with Patient Group Directions. 
  • Maintain accurate medical records utilizing in-house software.
  • Adhere to and use company policies and procedures.
  • Work within guidelines to ensure smooth running of the clinic or service.
  • Assist with clinical audit (within the clinic) and provide clinical input to service development projects.
  • Always maintain client confidentiality.
  • Attendance of professional study days and company study days as recommended
  • Some direct line management may be required but does not apply to every role
  • Any other duty as required by management commensurate with the post
  • Deliver the company strategy in line with the context of the wider strategy and provide a cascade for key messages to the team and an upward cascade for feedback
  • Be a competent practitioner and maintain clinical competency and skills in line with the NMC code of conduct
  • Act as an advocate for the patient, customer, organisation, and families in every situation.
  • Have an awareness of your clinics performance and proactively manage and promote profitability 
  • Expected to travel and in all weather conditions, within the region to deliver services. You may be required to travel outside the region in line with business need.
  • Provide support to colleagues as appropriate.
  • To demonstrate sound clinical judgement and risk-based decision making at all times.
  • Have knowledge of and adhere to company policy and professional standards and ensure that colleagues do likewise.
