The Transport Support Advisor Role

As our Transport Support Advisor, you will provide support to the Planning Team, Customer Service Teams & Transport Management.

Your responsibilities as our Transport Support Advisor will include:

  • Being the main point of contact for all vendors & Customer Service Teams with their correspondence to CCIS Landside via email & phone.
  • Liaising with the Import and Export departments regarding delivery/loading issues. Resolve Transport issues where possible including by phone and email.
  • Ensuring container numbers are input into relative systems (Tops and Destin8) if required.
  • Investigating containers not restituted by hauliers or showing as still out to customers. Resolve any issues resulting in containers not being returned to the correct quay.
  • Advising Late Runners in a timely & prompt manner to the relevant Customer Service Department.
  • Assisting in requesting and sending Proof of Delivery/CMR notes for all loads when required and in sending paperwork required to go with deliveries.
  • Confirming jobs prior to haulier statements being produced and update the system if required
  • Providing holiday cover within the team.

To become our Transport Support Advisor, you’ll need:

  • Minimum GCSE level or equivalent with minimum Grade C or equivalent in Mathematics and English
  • Good understanding of in-house computer systems (Tops, Destin8 & CNS)
  • Excellent knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word and Excel
  • Excellent ability to produce Excel reports and collate data
  • Good UK geographical knowledge is desirable
  • Awareness of UK road haulage
  • Previous experience in a transport role preferred
  • The ability to work on own initiative and provide reports and statistics (mainly Excel-based), consistently accurate and in a timely manner
  • Previous customer service experience is desirable
