M4 Recruitment are recruiting for a Transport Planner to work for the UK’s leading supplier of mulches, growing media, play surfaces, soil improvers, biofiltration media based on bark, wood and other natural materials. Due to continued growth, my client are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team based at Tetbury.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (0730 - 1700)
Location: This position is based at Tetbury, own transport essential due to location of site. This is an office-based role, work from home is not possible.
Responsibilities:
- Routing of deliveries and collections
- Cost allocation and data analysis
- Input dispatch information on to internal system
- Communicating with customers via telephone and email to book in deliveries and resolve traffic related queries
- Weekly stock ordering
- Resolution of customer related enquiries, or referral to colleagues, by telephone and email
- Maintaining haulier relationships and reviewing new haulier offerings
- Weighbridge operation
- Sales order generation
- Resolution of haulier related complaints and disputes
Skills:
- Good geographical awareness of the UK
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations (working knowledge of vehicle capacities and driver regulations)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with drivers, production staff and customers
- Analytical thinking to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel & Word
- Ability to learn and develop knowledge of Horticultural products
- Adaptable to new challenges
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Transport & Logistics
- Microsoft Excel & Word
