Previous experience within Transport or Distribution is required.

JOB TITLE: Transport Operator

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Based on a customer’s site
  • Dealing with drivers and the customers warehouse team
  • Liaising with other depots
  • Planning a small fleet of trucks and drivers using the Transport Management System
  • Rerouting jobs as and when needed
  • Checking all PODS are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
  • Communicating with customer service team on any delays

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Previous experience in a Transport environment
  • Confident and clear communicator - written and verbal
  • Must be happy to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
  • Excellent UK geographical knowledge
  • Can work on own initiative
  • Quick and efficient problem solving skills
  • Organised at all times
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of the business

HOURS OF WORK: Please note when you first start you will work Monday to Friday during training. This will then move to 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm or 7am-7pm (1 hour lunch).

SALARY: £28,000 - £33,000 - strong progression
