Transport Manager

Bennett and Game are currently working with a leading General Haulage and Distribution firm actively recruiting an experienced Operations/General Manager to join their team to assist in the continued growth and development of their West Yorkshire site.

Our client are leaders in total Warehouse, Distribution and Supply-chain Operations, and are currently looking to recruit an experienced Operations/General Manager to report directly to the managing director to oversee complete Transport and Site Operations.

Our client have developed over the last 25 years from a small family run firm, to now be an established Warehousing & Distribution firm, with a mixed fleet of 35 trucks and headcount of 50 at their main-site.

Transport Manager Position Overview

Within this role you will manage on both Operational and Commercial sides of the business so proven experience in both responsibilities is essential.

You will report directly to the MD / Board and oversee a site of 50 staff members and a fleet of 35 modern vehicles. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to -

• Develop and implement operational strategies as per the company's Strategic Business Plans.
• Monitor and control the company's performance and finances in accordance with the budgets approved by the Board of Directors.
• To ensure that all staff are effectively employed and adequately trained to perform their responsibilities and operational tasks in an ethical and responsible manner.
• To ensure that the products and services supplied and sold to clients are of high quality in accordance with the company's objectives.
• To ensure that the company meets all its legal requirements, including those relating to Operator Compliance, Health and Safety and Environmental and associated
• Acquisition, maintenance and efficient utilisation of the company's physical assets.
• Develop, plan and monitor progress of projects as required by the business.
• Manage all legal documents.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers.
• Manage Commercial activities, including Supplier and Customer Contracts, SLA's and projects.

Transport Manager Position Requirements

• Senior Management Experience In SME
• Excellent Customer Service & Account Management Experience
• IT Literate With Experience Using WMS/TMS
• Operational Transport & Warehouse Experience
• Operational FMCG Experience

• Business Degree or equivalent - Desirable
• Transport Managers CPC - Essential

Transport Manager Position Remuneration

• Monday - Friday Position
• Salary DOE (£50 - 65k)
