As the Transport Manager at Uniserve, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our transportation operations. From route planning and fleet management to compliance and customer service, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and success of our transport services. Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning and Optimisation: Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and minimise costs, considering factors such as distance, traffic, and fuel consumption.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimal performance.
  • Driver Management: Recruit, train, and manage drivers, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and qualifications for safe and legal operation.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including health and safety regulations and driver hours regulations.
  • Customer Service: Liaise with customers to understand their transportation needs and provide timely and accurate information regarding deliveries.
  • Cost Management: Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with transportation activities, such as accidents, delays, and theft.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and generate reports as needed for analysis and compliance purposes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in transportation operations and implement changes to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in transportation management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
