Transport Administrator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Administrator to join our Milton Keynes-based client.
Position: Transport Administrator
Hours: 9.30 am - 6 pm (Monday to Friday). Office based
Duration: This is a full-time, permanent position.
Salary: DOE
We are seeking a Full-time Transport Administrator for our Milton Keynes based client. As a Transport Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of transport and delivery activities. You will oversee transport routes and schedules and arrange the delivery of goods to meet customer demands in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The job will involve…
Key responsibilities:
- To be a point of contact for drivers and customers.
- Monitor the status of the deliveries on our transport management system and liaise with third-party couriers.
- Tracking vehicles
- Ensuring that customer enquiries are dealt with in a professional, timely and competent manner – mostly proof of Delivery paperwork and Estimated Time of Arrival requests.
- Liaising with internal and external departments.
- Debriefing drivers.
- Preparing manifests for the drivers for the next day.
Skills:
- Be a confident communicator with an excellent telephone manner.
- Have strong administrative skills.
- Be PC literate with the ability to adapt to a wide variety of tasks.
- Can work well under pressure.
- Experience in a similar role preferred – full training will be given.
