Are you an accomplished self-motivated Finance Analyst who is ready to support embedding, tracking and reporting on the delivery of our operational efficiency programme?  This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that we are delivering the improvements in our cost performance that will set the business up for success.
Working closely with the Operational Business, and the wider Operational Finance team, you will ensure that we embed best practice in terms of tracking the financial benefits of initiatives – tracking these through to completion and delivery. Being the central point for all benefit tracking you will have regular exposure to the Operational Business and Leadership team – ensuring that there is one version of the truth with regards to benefit recognition.

This role is critical to delivering our financial performance and the future success of our Operations business, ensuring that we enable, challenge and support the Operational teams to drive efficiency across the business supporting the ambition “to deliver life’s essential service, so our customers, communities and the environment can thrive”.

What you will be doing as Transformation Finance Analyst
  • Benefits tracking – Ensuring a clear framework is in place for the tracking of financial benefits, to ensure we consistently track and embed these, and providing subject matter expertise for the Operations business and workstream leads.
  • Operational Efficiency Reporting – Manages the efficiency reporting and engagement with the business units and finance for the ops wide efficiency programme. Also create output material for regular OLT reviews.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis – Ensure that there is clear line of sight from the efficiency initiative to the P&L, and ensure that the programme is aligned to our financial plans and budgets.
  • Governance – ensure that claimed efficiencies are robustly challenged and subject to appropriate sign off. Local FP&A teams should be the first line of defence, but this role should provide additional challenge as necessary – and ensure that a clear audit trail is available for all claimed benefits.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to improve and streamline the efficiency tracking, as well as improving the robustness and confidence in delivery.
What you should bring to the role
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail. Comfortable working with numbers and an expert with Excel
  • Previous Benefit Tracking experience
  • Ability to understand complex ideas and data (financial and non-financial) to generate insight and articulate key findings and recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills and customer ethic 
  • Good commercial acumen 
  • Excellent attention to detail alongside excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to think proactively to bring new ideas 
  • Self-starter – resilient, flexible, and tenacious under pressure  
  • A recognised Accounting qualification beneficial but not essential
